What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace ~ Agnes M. Pharo

1. Yuletide Aromatherapy Room Scenting Recipe
Well I’ve no idea where the time has gone. One minute it’s what passed for Summer here in the United Kingdom and the next it’s almost Yuletide!
At least this year I got my cards made by the end of November, so wasn’t stressed
up at the thought of getting them out in time. Last year I was running right up against
the wire. It meant that I didn’t enjoy myself as I usually do when card-
We got the tree down from the loft at the weekend, as we were having my niece and nephew over for a “Play Day” on the Sunday and wanted the house to look festive. My niece and I did some crafting and my nephew tucked himself away with Uncle Alasdair in the computer den.
We wondered how many times we will have to redress the tree this year – last year
it was three times due to kitten-
Each year I come up with a festive mix of oils, which conjure up the season for me. This year, the main base of the oil is Red Mandarin (you could use Sweet Orange instead) – about 200 drops, to which I added about 80 drops each of Pine and Frankincense essential oil, along with about 20 drops each of Clove and Cinnamon essential oils. I also added about 20 drops of Coriander essential oil (currently a favourite mixed with Mandarin or Orange oils for general everyday use). You can play about with the proportions to suit your own taste. Please be aware this mix is not for use on the skin or internally and do make sure to keep it out of reach of children!
I put this all into a dropper bottle and can then put drops of this mix on cotton wool for keeping mischievous cats away from under the tree; into the water in the humidifier pots hanging over the radiators; on pine cones that I have in a cauldron in the hall by the front door and on woodland pot pourri (mix of pine cones, horse chestnuts, beech mast and other bits and pieces I collect on walks) scattered about the house. I’ve also found it really good to put some drops on old herb sachets that have lost their original scent over time, which I have hanging in the airing cupboard. This is a great way to scent the whole of the upstairs.
Not only does this give the house a lovely smell which for me is wonderfully evocative of Yuletide/Solstice, but also helps to act as a natural antimicrobial, knocking out any winter bugs and nasties in the air. This is much better than the scented sprays you can get, and you can in fact make your own spray by adding some drops of your mix to a plant spray filled with water and a little vodka to act as a preservative.
It’s a pity scents can’t be sent over the Internet. This mix reminds me of Christmas cake and mincemeat.
I get my essential oils from Essentially Oils in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire
(http://www.essentiallyoils.com/) as I like their quality and their prices. These are the ones I use in my aromatherapy work at the Day Centre and New Burton House. You can get bottles and base oils from them as well.
Next year, one of the things I want to have a play with is making up some herbal incenses, possibly with a view to selling them. So watch this space.

2. What to do in 2009?
Have you come up with a game plan for 2009 yet? Have you some ideas or dreams that
you would like to follow? I have two cross stitch dream-
“Gather your Dreams, let their Spirit Guide you” and
“Follow your Dreams, for they are the Hope of the future.”
I’m good at dreaming!
Close on the heels of Christmas / Yule / Winter Solstice comes the New Year. I don’t tend to make New Year’s Resolutions, but I do like to make a list of projects I would like to get tucked under the belt during the course of the year to come. Hopefully, many of these will come to fruition, but some will and do fall by the wayside.
I liked today’s quotation on the ITV Teletext page 145:
“When you reach for the stars, you may not quite get one, but you won’t come up with a handful of mud either.” ~ Businessman Leo Burnett. A friend of mine always tells people to “Think like an eagle, not a chicken” which puts over a similar message, I think.
Nowadays, I’ll have a go at most things, even if I think I’m not too good at it. How else does one learn? And stretch oneself? You never know until you try. And if you have doubts and uncertainties along the way then there’s always our old friend EFT to give a boost and support.
This year just ending has seen me spending a lot of time on IT related endeavours in the process of getting my eBook up and running. I could look back and say that I’ve not seen much benefit for all my work so far. However, I have picked up a number of new skills and also made some friends in different places that I otherwise would never have known. Plus it means that all the groundwork has now been done – all I have to do is build upon that.
It has also kept me busy and occupied in a year that has seen my private work go
very quiet. Perhaps with the current economic climate this was not really the ideal
time to have changed the type of therapies I offer (crystal ball not working) but
when you look deeper, for all the doom and gloom-
I have decided that I need to be a little more organized and work/play balanced in 2009 and will work on that. Hopefully, more clients will come through my doors and I shall be writing more in the way of articles, and I’m going to start a blog as well (There, it’s down in writing and others have seen it. Gotta do it now!). I also intend to spend more time in my garden (British weather permitting!) and crafting and reading for pleasure.
For a touch of diversity, apart from wandering down the incense path, I have been
tentatively approached about providing hand-
This is really rather pleasing to me as I had already decided that I would like to merge my work and hobby in some way. So this suggestion appears to be a very timely validation by the Universe of that decision. I intend to start producing a small range of cards to sell on my website and/or eBay – Reiki Precepts cards similar to those I give to my Reiki Level 1 students, Oriental themed blank cards, and cards with an Egyptian or Celtic theme. It looks like fairies are also popular, and so are angels, therefore I have plenty of options. Depending upon how things go, I may also choose to do bespoke cards for special occasions.
So, it will be interesting to see how far our dreams can take us in the months ahead. Personally I hope to spend the whole of 2009 wreathed in smiles, let alone just Christmas time.

3. Yuletide ‘Son et Lumière’?
Despite the energy bills going up, perhaps indeed as a way at thumbing my nose at
all the doom, gloom and despondency the media seem so intent on trying to force upon
us, we finally succumbed to having some Christmas lights this year – opted for the
LED icicles. Lovely, icy-

Wishing You All Yuletide Blessings and a Happy, Healthy,
Prosperous & Cheerful New Year
If you click here you will find the “Doves of Love Joy and Peace”, my seasonal card to all my newsletter readers.
If the above makes you feel a little uncertain about what 2009 holds, which is only
natural at the moment, yet does little to serve your sense of well-
See http://www.eft-
Some suggested Setup Phrases that might be useful, or act as springboards for your own issues:
Even though I am uncertain about what 2009 will bring, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though I’m worried that (my job may go… I won’t be able to pay my bills/way… I might lose my house… ), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though uncertainty about the future makes me feel tense, worried and uptight, I deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway and choose to let go and go with the flow and to believe that 2009 brings that which can only serve me well.

Does anyone out there have any interesting EFT and/or Reiki experiences of their own that they would like to share? Or feedback about other meridian energy modalities?
Does anyone have any questions they would like to ask?
I am always happy to receive any constructive feedback you wish to leave. If you

It also includes a Forum, which is in its infancy and thus rather quiet at the moment. The more people who join the busier it can become and I would like it to be a place where you can visit and share your views. So do hop over and say hello!
If any of you ladies are finding that you have reached a certain time of life, and
you don’t feel quite so cool, calm and collected as you once did, then you may be

Finally, I would like to remind you that you can tap away your problems with EFT and relax and chill out with Reiki.
I’ll be back again in the New Year.
I wish you all the Brightest of Blessings,
