REIKI PRINCIPLES or PRECEPTS
I have trained in both Western Tradition and Japanese Tradition Reiki. You can see my relevant lineages here.
The Reiki Principles are a very important aspect of Reiki practice. In the Japanese
tradition that I learned, they are almost as important, if not more-
They are certainly a good thing to sit and contemplate, and indeed to try and incorporate them into our daily life. If we could follow these wise words, life would be very sweet.
The Reiki Principles or Reiki Precepts that I prefer to use are as follows:
“The secret of inviting happiness through many blessings.
The spiritual medicine for all illness.
For today only:
Do not anger,
Do not worry,
Be humble,
Be honest in your work,
Be compassionate to yourself and others.
Do gassho every morning and evening,
Keep in your mind and recite.”
The Usui Reiki method to change your mind and body for the better
The founder, Usui Mikao
The Western Tradition version that was passed down to me was:
Just for today, do not worry.
Just for today, do not anger.
Honour your parents, teachers and elders.
Earn your living honestly.
Show gratitude to every thing.
Do an internet search and you will come up with these and other slight variations.
So far, I have two EFT, Reiki and All Kinds of Everything blog postings relating to the Precepts, Just for today, do not worry and Just for today, do not anger, which you may like to read.
